Shooting Stars

Today after being _______ like bad, my brother told me he read something online about shooting stars that's going to be around 10:00 p.m. today this December 13, 2011 (U.S. time) till early morning the following day. I like stargazing. It makes me at ease and I was excited to see them despite it was cold outside.

After 10pm, we both headed to the rooftop, excited and waited. It wasn't really that cold, and we were both thankful it wasn't super freezing; we can still manage! The city is so beautiful as I looked; it was one of those moments that I wished I could stay here a little longer under the canopy of stars. It was peaceful. It was so pretty. The moon was bright and lovely. I was turning poetic. Oh yeah! I heard it was better to watch them after midnight! (OH WHYYYYY!!! *bawls* We need to wake early to go somewhere the next day with the family so we need our eight hours of sleep. Yes, excuses like this happens for a reason. I don't want to do it, but someone has to.)

NASA meteor expert Bill Cooke predicted that people might see as many as 40 meteors per hour, even in moonlight, at the Geminids peak. Unlike many meteor showers, you can start watching the Geminids by 9 or 10 p.m. local time. The peak might be around 2 a.m. local time on these nights, because that’s when the shower’s radiant point is highest in the sky as seen around the world. (read more)

Our necks were getting stiff. But we stood there waiting for the shooting stars to come. Few minutes later we both saw a shooting star on our right, and another that almost got away from my sight! It was crazy! It beamed us with joy. If only I could scream on top of my lungs while on the rooftop, but I'm afraid I could wake up the neighbors. I saw two shooting stars; my brother saw one.

While we were there, I suggested the next time we are on a hunt, we try to remember to grab a blanket or a chair, and a hot drink while waiting in this cold night. Mine's tea. My brother would probably fix himself a hot cup of coffee.

We waited a little more, hoping to see another shooting star -- hopefully like a shower, but it was getting late. I don't want to leave the cold night like this, but I knew I had to go.

(Who knows! There could be a shooting star now as I write this now as we speak!) :3

Nyt Nyt, Everyone! It's way past my bedtime. Zzzzzz..... :)

Three Shadows by Cyril Pedrosa

Back then, life was simple and sweet. The taste of cherries, the cool shade, the fresh smell of the river... That was how we lived, in a vale among the hills - sheltered from storms, ignorant of the world, as though on an island, peaceful and untroubled.

And then,
Then everything changed.

The book is a good read; full of energy and moving on every page. It was gripping and haunting at the same time; I couldn't bring the book down for a second. The art, and the black and white line drawings brings the darkness and the rawness of every panel. All the characters are striking because even without words, it brings out the emotions it wanted to portray. And, I have to say, just by that, I knew this book got my attention.

This is a story about a mom, a dad and their son who all lived inside a small house in a farm; happy and living the simple and sweet life. Until one night, they spotted three shadows not far on a hill. They don't do anything, or at least talk to them what could possibly they want. But the thought of the three shadows scares the family. The mom went out to seek the Mistress Pike to learn more about these shadows, and found out they wanted to take their son. Knowing they can't do anything, they thought to take their son as far as away as they can. And so their journey began....

A page of the book where I took  a photo of it.

The feeling of losing someone is undeniably one of things I also am in fear. No matter how much a person tries to outrun the 'shadows' in their life, it will find us. Life is short; when the time has come, it comes. It makes us realize more the value of life, family, and the people whom we love in general.

(Before I forgot, this book and the rest of the books followed after this review, are borrowed from a public library.)

OMG! You wouldn't guess what just happened!

It's been really a long time! How many months have I been gone? I know being a slacker is not an excuse. A lot of things happened and I know I had to suck it up for good! Where was I after all time? I should have been writing here and tell you something where I had been, seen,.... you know the drill, right? I've been gone for so long, not writing a single thing for months makes someone wonder if I'll ever come back, or if I'm still breathing in this planet!

To be honest, I was really thinking of moving my blog (with a different name, of course) to somewhere else and close this one for good. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!? That seemed quite a shocker, huh? Yes, I was thinking of moving out and write my thoughts elsewhere ---- without telling you the URL address. *sad face* I know, I know. I've become a mean person, and here I am rude, sarcastic and a heartless person you never thought I'd be. I know, people. I wish I could calm myself down for a bit and just learn how to breathe --- for real!

Here I am. Just to spread the word out that, yes, I am still alive.

So, should I still move, or not?

Vanilla & Co. Whipped Buttercream - Sweet Pea - Review

A month ago, while in a mall somewhere in Manila, I happen to find a small store where they resell some wide ranges of names of organic products created locally here in the Philippines. It almost felt I hit a jackpot, and just had to take a look; since I am a little tight on the budget, I'm going to purchase items that I really, really, REALLY wanted to try. I bought an item from Ilog Maria, which, I still need to roadtest, and another whipped buttercream from Vanilla & Co. I  just had to jump for joy! I'm dying to get my hands on these for months now, but with all the variants to choose from, I was reluctant if I'll love the scent.

Glad they had around 8-10 different scented whipped buttercream to choose from. But of course, I didn't go through every one of them. If the name happens to be 'delicious', I'd keep it as an option until I choose what I love the best.

One thing that really caught my eye was the Chocolate and Hazelnut kind of whipped buttercream, but as soon as I took a quick sniff of the product -- it was too strong. Yes, I do love chocolate and would love to take this baby home with me, but the scent was not as "love at first smell", if you know what I mean. I've tried other variants too, but one thing that REALLY stood out was the Sweet Pea scented whipped buttercream.

So there you have it... a lengthy intro! lol! Now for the review.

Our truly raw and organic Cocoa Butter (theobroma cacao) contains generous amounts of antioxidants and has a naturally long storage life. Boasting a high level of tocopherols (Vitamin E), effective moisturizers and healing properties, our organic Cocoa Butter is also a great treatment for chapped, dry and itchy skin.
Every jar of Vanilla & Co. Pure Shea & Cocoa Whipped Buttercream guarantees that you get the absolute best for your skin, every ounce contains a generous amount of pure, unrefined & fresh organic butters.

The packaging is simply one of the things that caught me in the first place; the vintage-y logo made me drawn to it. The scent is amazing, "light", and once applied, the smell stays on to the skin for around 5-10 minutes. It's really something that keeps me coming back for more. I love the creamy and thick consistency, and it quickly absorbs in the skin. I've been using it for 3-4 weeks now, and I have to be honest, I still haven't finished the 180g of this product on me. I've been using this on and off because I felt a little dry on some parts. I tried using other body lotion I have at home. It does not have any SPF factor in it.

Would I repurchase again? Yes. I definitely would. I love the scent! Sweet Pea... one of my favorite scents now! :)

Dear Diary: Waiting

Dear Diary,

What was I even thinking? I didn't have to wait for a day or two to see it clearly. It was already right under my nose all the time.... for a few months actually. I was obviously ignoring the FACTS.

I knew something was up in the first place. Something wasn't right... something wasn't in place. And, oh my gosh, I was right all along. :)

I'm already in my limit.

I got tired, Dear Diary. I got so tired, I had to let this go --- few minutes ago. :)

Emotera #1

Bilib ako sa kanya.
Nagawa nya baguhin ang life ko..
Binigyan nya ng kabuluhan life ko..
Pero lalo pa ako bumilib; Biruin mo,
Sa tigas kong to nasaktan nya ko.

(Allow me to speak in my native tongue today. A little corny, i know.
I found it in someone's facebook status an hour ago.)

Skin Hour Revitaleyes Review

My latest item I bought at Skin Hour is their Revitaleyes Eye Balm. I simply love adding something in my evening routine aside the cleansing, toning and moisturizing of my face. This really caught my attention and just had to try this out since it's only Php100. I couldn't believe it at first, but the price was just too sweet to ignore!

This is the first eye balm I bought for myself. I know what lip balms are, but an eye balm? I can't wait to try it! This eye balm is unscented, has a lip balm in consistency and it is white in color. One or two swipes of these under each eye is enough for the night.

In their website, it says that:

An unscented eye balm applied under the eye during the night to diminish puffiness, firm skin and reduce lines. It also lightens dark circles and moisturizes the most sensitive area of the eye.
Its ingredients are: organic beeswax, sweet almond oil, apricot seed oil, coconut stearate, collagen, vitamin k, calendula extract, vitamin e, grapefruit extract and orris root extract.

After a month of using this eye balm, here are my likes and dislikes.

Likes:
1. It moisturized the delicate skin under my eyes. As soon as I wake up, I found my skin under my eyes were really moisturized.
2. The pot is small, you can take it with you almost anywhere!
3. I love the organic ingredients in this eye balm.
4. The price! It's cheap. I couldn't ignore it! In it goes in my shopping cart. :)

Dislikes:
Can't think of any.

Overall Thoughts:
I just loved it! I hope they could sell a bigger size of this eye balm. After 4 weeks of using this product, I can't tell any difference because I don't have eye bags or wrinkles. But I did noticed some changes with the puffiness and it did felt smooth to the touch under the skin of my eyes. I'd definitely buy this again!
